Why GLP-1 care

Medicine that may change what's possible.

In large clinical trials, many people taking GLP-1 medicines alongside diet and activity changes lost far more weight than with lifestyle changes alone. Results vary from person to person.

About 15 percent

average body-weight loss with semaglutide 2.4 mg over 68 weeks in the STEP 1 trial1

Up to about 21 percent

average loss at the highest tirzepatide dose over 72 weeks in SURMOUNT-12

islands served by telehealth, from Kauaʻi to Hawaiʻi Island

1 STEP 1 trial, New England Journal of Medicine, 2021. 2 SURMOUNT-1 trial, New England Journal of Medicine, 2022. Trial participants had obesity or overweight with a related condition and also followed a reduced-calorie diet and activity plan. Average results, not a promise: individual results vary, and not everyone qualifies for or responds to these medicines.

This isn't another diet. It's real medicine, a coach who knows your name, and a plan built around your island life.

How it works

Three steps from curious to cared for.

Book a free consultation

Pick a time that suits you. A 20-minute video or phone call to talk through your goals, your history and whether a GLP-1 program could fit.

Get your personal plan

If you qualify, your clinician orders any labs you need and writes a plan. Medication ships from a licensed pharmacy to your door.

Start, with backup

Regular check-ins, dose adjustments, and a coach on message for the everyday questions: meals, side effects, motivation, travel.

Your first 90 days

What the start of your program can look like.

Swipe to see each stage.

  1. Day 1

    Your consultation

Talk with a clinician about your health, goals and past attempts. If a GLP-1 fits, you'll leave with a clear plan and any lab orders.

  2. Week 1

    First dose, low and slow

You start on the lowest dose so your body can adjust. Your coach checks in on day 2 and day 5 about appetite, hydration and how you feel.

  3. Weeks 2–4

    Learn your new hunger

Many people notice smaller portions feel like enough. You'll build a protein-first plate and a simple plan for any nausea or constipation.

  4. Month 2

    Step up, if it's right

Your clinician reviews your progress and side effects and decides whether to increase your dose. Movement goals grow with your energy.

  5. Month 3

    Habits that hold

A 90-day review: labs if needed, progress against your goals, and a plan for the months ahead, including what maintenance could look like.

Check your eligibility

Could a GLP-1 program be right for you?

GLP-1 medicines are usually considered at a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition. Try the calculator; it runs on your device and sends nothing.

BMI is a screening number, not a diagnosis. It doesn't account for muscle, age or ethnicity, which is why a clinician looks at the whole picture.

What changes

Same you. Very different support.

Going it alone

  • Constant food noise and willpower that runs out by evening
  • Diet plans that ignore your schedule, your culture and your family table
  • Nobody to ask when the scale stalls or you feel off
  • Flying or driving to a clinic for every appointment
  • Starting over every January

With your care team

  • A medicine that may help quiet hunger, so good choices take less effort
  • A plan built around poke bowls, potlucks, night shifts and real life
  • A coach on message and a clinician who adjusts your plan with you
  • Visits by video or phone from home, work or the beach parking lot
  • Habits built to last beyond the program

Injectable wellness

Optional add-ons ordered with your plan after a clinician review. Evidence for some is still emerging; we'll be straight with you about what each can and can't do.

Meet Teresa

Care from someone who knows island life.

Teresa Rodriguez Gonzalez is a physician assistant, licensed to practise medicine and prescribe, and the founder of Telehealth Wellness Hawaii. She built the practice to bring clinician-guided GLP-1 weight management to every island by video and phone, without the drive, the flight or the waiting room.

She grew up with Spanish-speaking parents who put off seeing a doctor because of the language barrier, and became the provider she wished they had. Visits are in English or Spanish, and you will always know who is looking after you.
